The Big Bang Theory is over, Jim Parsons explains why

As the last episode of the popular TV series about the adventures of the cutie nerd Sheldon Cooper was aired on May 16, actor Jim Parsons, who plays him, shared more details about the decision to end it and revealed some plans for future. Parsons made the decision not to renew his contract on Big Bang Theory for a potential 13th season, prompting the announcement that the long-running show will end this year. “I don’t know if it’s because I’m an Aries or just because maybe I’m in touch with myself. Whatever it is, once I had that thought, I was like, ‘Well, that’s your answer,’” said the openly gay Emmy winner, noting that there was no scandal, no quarrel and no driving force behind the decision rather than a thought that enough is enough. And the show’s creator Chuck Lorre said that there cannot be The Big Bang Theory without Sheldon and there cannot be any other Sheldon rather than Jim Parsons. So if he leaves, the show ends, period.
