Drag show for kids hopes to bring the lesson of LGBT inclusion to Birmingham protesters

A drag cabaret show for children will be visiting Birmingham as part of its UK tour, hoping to dispel myths about drag culture and to raise awareness of LGBT issues in general. FANTABULOSA!, a pop-up interactive drag show for kids directed by Adam Carver, celebrates difference and diversity by promoting LGBT visibility in public spaces. “We wanted to try and recreate the party atmosphere of a drag show but make that suitable for families and children,” said Carver, adding that each of their performances is a unique LGBT-inclusive story that includes lypsyncing, singing, dancing and playing games, and he wi8shed something like that existed when he was a child. “It was really important to me to create something that made queer communities visible to children in a way that was accessible and fun but also taught them that it was okay to be different and that differences should be celebrated,” the creator explains.
