Taron Egerton is frustrated that Rocketman was censored in Russia

The Welsh actor who plays Sir Elton John in the famous biopic Rocketman is not hiding his irritation about the gay sex scene being cut off the movie by the Russian censors before the film reached the cinemas of the country. The actor wrote on Instagram that such a decision was totally unfair because love is love and there should never be any compromise about this issue. ““I am crestfallen that the decision was made to censor our movie for the Russian market. I’m even more disappointed to hear about it second hand today on the day of our domestic release,” the actor wrote. He added that he deeply regrets that he was made aware of such a decision only post factum, when nothing could be changed already. But if there was a chance to influence this situation somehow, he would definitely try his best. Fellow actors Alex Pettyfer and Charlie Carver praised Egerton for the stance, and Queer Eye star Tan France added: “PREACH!!”
