The Broadway star hit at the Senator Lindsey Graham asking her to come out, and it brought her (Lupone) under the wave of criticism. Lupone went after Graham after she refused to condemn President Donald Trump for telling the American congresswomen of color to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.” But Graham only called all the women of color in Congress (and there are currently 4 of them) anti-Semitic and anti-American communists. Lupone immediately came to Twitter and called Graham’s words a disgrace. “On a personal note, why don’t you just bite the bullet and come out. You might just come to your senses,” the celebrity wrote, and her followers were quick to tell her that Graham’s sexuality was not her business and these words are no les disgrace than the Senator’s initial remark. Lupone has positioned herself as an LGBT ally for years and had a status of a gay icon.
