Male sex workers occupy the red lights district for Pride

Male sex workers are taking over windows in Amsterdam’s Red Light District to demand equality. The city is world-famous as a sex tourism destination due to its liberal laws which proclaim sex work to be legal. But the thing is that the red lights district is rarely exposing male sex workers, as women are attracting clients on a regular basis. So, men decided to correct this on August 3, when the city was celebrating Pride. The collaboration with escort company HUNQZ men took over the windows along the street as the Pride marched there. They said that the need in gender equality in sex industry is often ignored, men who work in it also deserve to have their rights protected. Tourists were allowed to photograph them, though in general it is forbidden. A release explained: “This way, we hope visitors of the Pride will learn more about male sex workers and what is important to them!”
