Spider-Man: Far From Home actor Tom Holland has maintained that he does hope to see an alternative version of Spider-Man where the character is gay. In a new video with GQ, the cover star for the Fall 2019 issue went undercover on social media to answer fan questions. And one of these questions was whether he had ever said that he would like to see Spider-Man gay. “The question asked was, ‘Do you think there should be a gay Spider-Man?’ I think that would be a very progressive way to kind of create a new character,” Holland said, adding that it is not for him to decide when it is going to happen, but he hopes it will be before his acting career ends, so that he will be able to play this story himself. Holland has often been a big supporter of greater, more diverse representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as other franchises.
