Washington state beauty salon received a threatening message claiming their Pride flag is “in violation of natural laws of decency”. The owners refused to remove the flag and they had their windows cracked four days after they ignored a homophobic note. The parlour’s co-owner Jesse Floch told the local media that he has always believed Olympia to be one of the safest, the most diverse and inclusive cities, so incidents like this leave him heartbroken, but they are not going to leave it this way, Pride flags will wave even higher and they will be even bigger. According to local police, similar notices were placed on two other local businesses that fly Pride flags. Officers are still investigating the incidents. Meanwhile, a local fundraiser has since been launched by LGBT+ group Capital City Pride to cover the cost of “fixing the downtown windows busted by homophobes”.
