Daniela Calderon, age 35, was working in Northwest Dallas in Texas on a mild Friday night when she was approached by a man who asked her whether she was afraid to die and then shot her 7 times, If to believe the report from Dallas News. The woman, originally from Honduras, thought that the USA was not as transphobic as her native land and things like that just could not happen. Calderon was shot by 29-year-old Domingo Ramirez-Cayente while she was walking alone on the evening of September 20, on the 11000 block on Dennis Road, a residential neighborhood. Calderon fled to a nearby shop. Ducking in, she stayed under-cover for a while. But emerging out of the store, she recounted how: “He comes from the other side, from the back, so that I could not see him”. Her attacker pleaded guilty of shooting her but was released on bail.
