Boris Johnson wants people to know he is not a homophobe

The British PM refuses to apologize for the usage of anti-gay slurs, but he stresses that he does not hate gay people and never did. He insists to have always believed that love is lover and people should be free to be whoever they want and with whomever they want. The PM added that many Conservatives now divide these views because even conservatism is updating and developing. He pointed out that he had done a lot for LGBT as a Mayor of London. He said that he would stay committed to the LGBT Action Plan and wanted ‘gay cure therapy’ to be made illegal. All other major parties agreed upon the last point too. Johnson also affirmed that the results of the public consultations for the Gender Recognition Act will be “announced in due course”. He also promised to campaign against bullying at schools and to help teachers to educate students about acceptance and tolerance.
