A man identified in court reports as Mark Latunski has been charged over the murder of 25-year-old Michigan hair stylist Kevin Bacon after meeting him on a popular gay online dating platform. According to court documents, at 5pm on on Christmas Eve Bacon had told his best friend and housemate Michelle Myers that he had met a guy on Grindr and he had invited him to go out together that night. A text later informed her that he was having fun and might not be back for a while – but the following day he did not come to the Christmas dinner and his family understood that something had happened. Bacon’s car, clothes, phone and wallet were later found abandoned by police, while his mutilated body was found three days later. Latunski was arraigned on one count of murder and one count of mutilation of a human body. Condolences were sent by beauty blogger Jeffrey Star and also the victim’s celebrity namesake – Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon, who wrote that although he is not related to his family, his heart is with them.
