An event with the US hate preacher has already been cancelled in Liverpool, after the venue said his views were “incompatible with our values”. The Scottish city of Glasgow will be next in the row. Graham’s eight-day UK tour in memory of his father Billy Graham was due to start in this city late in May 2020, but the venue where it was planned to hold it probably does not want such a guest. But following calls for Glasgow’s Hydro to cancel his appearance, the venue said: “We are aware of the recent issues surrounding this tour and will be reviewing this with our stakeholders in due course”. Glasgow MSP Patrick Harvie sees no need in any reviews as for him it is clear that Mr. Graham will use this opportunity (meaning the speech in Glasgow and the tour in general) to spread hate. In a statement, the evangelical preacher said it was “not true” that he was going to bring hateful speech to the UK and told British gay people to repent for their sins.
