The anonymous person assigned as male at birth started relationships with another man who forcefully injected them with female hormones saying that it was for them to marry because same-sex marriages are not approved in India yet. When the ‘therapy’ was over, the man forced his partner into a gender confirmation surgery. But when it was completed, the victim figured out that their boyfriend was already married and had a child aged 7. The claimant said that their boyfriend turned their life into hell and they would commit suicide if no legal actions were taken against the man identified in the reports as 32-year-old Sunil Kumar. Kumar, who comes from Panipat in the north of India, was arrested on December 18, 2018. On September 26, 2017, police filed a report accusing Kumar under sections 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 377 (Unnatural offences) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).
