Gay newlywed dies after bar altercation

Christopher McKinney, 35, died after the incident at Nowhere bar in Louisville, Kentucky that states itself as LGBT-friendly. Louisville Police said that McKinney was being escorted out over “unruly behavior” when he got into an altercation with a bouncer that led to him being kicked out. He was rushed to hospital but his injuries gave him no chance to survive. Police investigated the incident, but no charges have so far been filed over the death of McKinney, who had only tied the knot with his husband Nicholas just a few months before. The police found no evidence that the crime could have been homophobically motivated. However, the death has caused consternation in the local LGBT+ community, with some alleging the venue has a history of roughly handling patrons. The bar claims to be unable to comment pending investigation, but they are fully operating with the authorities
