You’ve waited for it for so long. Switzerland can be the next country where same-sex marriage will be legalized. Country’s parliament made an important step on the way to equality; the majority voted in favour. The upper house of country’s legislature voted to approve this legislation and 22 members voted for it while only 15 didn’t want to support this decision and 7 members abstained from the vote. It is for sure the huge step for the LGBT community of Switzerland because community had seven-year campaign.Green Party introduced this bill 7 years ago. According Article 14 of country’s constitution, the right to marry and to have a family is guaranteed. Some people were sure that this article already accommodates marriages of any kind. But it wasn’t enough for LGBT activists. Parliament passed the first that banns LGBT discrimination only at the beginning of this year in February.
