Julie Berman, 51, based in Toronto, was campaigning against the transphobic violence in her country. The Canadian police reported her to have been killed in a downtown boarding home near the corner of Brunswick Avenue and Harbord Street, a residential neighborhood with fish and chips eateries and university accommodation. While information is scant, detectives alleged that the victim s had her head injured and Colin Harnack was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The victim was rushed to the hospital, but doctors only pronounced her death. Local authorities have yet to confirm she is trans, but numerous loved ones and community leaders have identified her. Moreover, community leaders stated that the suspect in her reported killing is not known to be a member of the LGBT+ community, The Globe and Mail reported.
