Kevin Hart still wants to host the Oscars

Kevin Hart, who chose not to host the Oscars when his past homophobic comments resurfaced, now hopes the public has forgiven him and there will be an opportunity to host the ceremony in future. Hart will feature in the new film Jumanji: The Next Level alongside Dwayne Johnson. At the premiere he was asked by Variety whether he sees himself and The Rock as co-hosts for Oscars 2020. The answer was that he would love to and he loves and respects the academy, so there is a chance for a productive conversation about this issue if they consider it seriously. Hart quit as the host of the 2019 Academy Awards, which took place in February, after organizers asked him to issue an apology for his historical anti-gay material. He then opted to publicly resign, though he had given an apology, but it did not seem sincere for the audience and the backlash around him continued. Last month, Hart announced that he would take up the Oscars drama yet again in a documentary about himself. The Netflix docuseries Don’t F**k This Up is set to be released by the end of the year
