According to the Japanese human rights organisations, LGBT protection law from discrimination law should be introduced in the country before Olympics begin. It says that people should be protected from any discrimination connected with gender identity as well as sexual orientation. MP of Japan Yoshihide Suga received the appeal from more than 110 different organisations, among them Athlete Ally, Japan Alliance for LGBT Legislation, Rights Watch. There is even anti-discrimination laws campaign #EqualityActJapan supported by thousands. All these organisations hope this law will be introduced till the summer 2020. As we know, Olympics2020 were postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope, this year we can visit it from 23rd July to 8th August in Tokyo. “We hope all the people will have possibility to live openly and safely,” Yuri Igarashi from Japan Alliance for LGBT Legislation said.
