The Star Wars actor heard the media calling him gender-fluid, but he did not agree this word could be applied to him and he does not even understand the meaning of it. Last week, he spoke to Esquire about his pronouns, explaining that he used both “himself” and “herself”. He added: “I think of myself as a relatively colourful character who doesn’t take himself or herself too seriously…. I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine,” the 82-year-old actor used to say, and media interpreted it as his coming out as gender-fluid. But he, when he was informed about the meaning of ‘gender-fluid’, explained that he is not such, he is a man, but deep inside every single man there is a sparkle of femininity, and it is much better to accept it rather than to let the toxic masculinity stereotypes ruin your life. He also seemed confused about the difference between gender and sexuality, adding: “I wasn’t talking about running around and having a good time, playing male or female sexual games.” The actor said that what he was actually talking about was “what Carl Jung talked about, the anima-animus: the anima being the female counterpart of the male self, animus… I just want to tell everybody, read Carl Jung. He was a contemporary of Freud’s.”
