Charli XCX delivered an inspired speech to the LGBT+ community, giving a concert in Moscow. Charli is a prominent LGBT ally and Russia is known for social and legal oppression of its LGBT population. She said that the majority of her friends are LGBT and she sees how hard it is to be a member of this community. “To feel included in the community as an ally is really powerful,” she said, adding that she is extremely grateful to the3 LGBT community for keeping her career alive. She continued: “I’m so lucky to have been able to collaborate with so many incredible artists from the community, too. The community means a lot to me, let me just say that.” Charli then dedicated her performance if ‘Shake It’ to her queer fans and those who support them.
