It’s so good to read about such research results. According to survey prepared by Just Like Us [LGBT charity organization]for Trans Day of Visibility, almost all UK young people would support their friends that decided to come out as trans. This survey took place in December last year and in January this year. Around 3,000secondary school pupils were asked if they would support their friend after they come out. As a result, almost 60 per cent answered they have already trans friends. 96 per cent of LGBT pupils (1,140 of 3,000) said they would support their friends after coming out anyway while 76 per cent of straight pupils would do the same. Around 400 UK colleges and schools took part in this research. Chief executive of Just Like UsDominic Arnall hopes trans young people will be more welcomed at school as their straight peers.
